What is Page Yield?

It is the estimated number of pages that a toner or ink cartridge is able to print before you need to replace it. It is tested by the ISO (International Organization of Standardization) standard.

However, many other elements may affect the lasting time of your cartridges.

1.  Do you print a lot of photos?

2.  Do you print mostly documents?

3.  What is the content size/length/font of your printing?

4.  What mode do you usually print (Draft/High-quality)?

5.  What is the page size you usually print?

Even the temperature, the age of cartridges, the frequency of printhead cleaning, and the storage conditions of your cartridges will influence the page yield.

What does 5% coverage mean?

It means when you print your page, there’s only 5% of the page has ink or toner on it.

What are the different Page Yields?

Standard Size: standard size ink cartridges. The most common one at a cheaper price and the printing pages at a smaller number.

It is suitable for the one who does not need to print too much.

E.g. HP 902 for the HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 prints 300 pages.

Larger Version: high yield ink cartridges. Contains more ink and can print more pages than the standard size at a higher price.

However, if you need to print a lot, it is more cost-effective in long run.

E.g. HP 902XL for the HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 prints 825 pages.

Extra Large Version: extra high yield, the largest size ink cartridges. The largest size of cartridges and even more ink at a higher price.

It is suitable for a document-heavy office setting.

E.g. HP 906XL for the HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 prints 1,500 pages.

Are there any difference in the installation?

No, installing larger size ink cartridges is exactly the same as installing a standard one. They all fit in the same slot and your printer should be able to compatible with all sizes of cartridges.

Does it look different?

Most of the higher page yield cartridges look the same as the standard ones. Some of the larger high yield cartridges may physically larger, but they should fit in the same slot.

What about the price?

The standard one is usually cheaper than the extra size. For example, a standard toner cartridge of HP 80A(OEM) costs $114.99, while the high yield one costs $196.99.

The price is more than 70% higher than the standard one.

However, if you choose a compatible one, we could save up to 80% costs for you.

Topjet also provides extra-large size toner cartridges while it can boost up to 65% more pages reaching 4K!
